Anita Spring has long been known as one of Australia’s finest vocalists.
Her Father was a bass player in The Troupadors with Johnny O’Keefe and her Mother, a vocalist touring with many Artists including Bob Hope and a regular on the Channel Nine Appealathon Perth.
Anita is deeply respected by the music community. She has been touring nationally over the past two and a half years in a sell-out show paying tribute to the amazing Olivia Newton-John in a show she has produced herself “Forever Olivia” See Anita’s list of SHOWS HERE! Anita Spring has long been an in-demand session and touring vocalist and is now being recognised as a serious Songwriter and Country Music Artist.
Not That Kind of Girl, was a FINALIST at the Tamworth Songwriter’s Association Awards in 2023 in Bluegrass Category and it was Anita’s first release of 2022. The song reached No.3 on the Country Tracks Airplay Top 40 Chart and remained there for two consecutive weeks and remained in the Top 10 for 11 weeks. Not That Kind of Girl is Blue Grass at its finest. The music video was aired on CMT Australia. Written by Anita Spring, Allan Caswell and Lindsay Waddington and produced by Kross Kut Records.
Strong Enough, Anita’s 3rd release in 2022 reached No.5 on the Australian Country Radio Chart and remained in the Top 10 for 7 weeks. The music video was aired on CMT Australia and THE COUNTRY NETWORK NASHVILLE (TCN) airing across every State of the USA on high rotation for weeks. "I started performing professionally in Musicals and later was signed to major record label when I was still very young. I worked with Tony Swaine (Spandau Ballet, Kim Wylde, Bananarama), Gary Kemp (Spandau Ballet), Trevor Steel and John Holiday (Escape Club) and recorded at and AIR Studios London and even shared a cup of tea with Sir George Martin and Sir Paul McCartney in the cafeteria whist Elton John was rehearsing in the main studio and Cold Play were recording their second studio album in another studio, pretty amazing when I think about it. Despite my debut single reaching No.7 on the ARIA Australian Singles Chart, that adventure came to an end. However, I continued to perform in shows and tour Nationally and Internationally alongside many Artists including, Christine Anu, Ian Moss, Ross Wilson, Tony Hatch, Vanessa Amorosi, Tina Arina.”
Following an inspirational road trip with my girlfriends in 2017 to Nashville, Memphis and Graceland, Anita started writing songs again.
“I went back to Nashville in May 2018, I collaborated with many acclaimed songwriters including Mark Narmore and Doug Gills and I came home with a lot of songs and I’ve continued to write songs on my own and with others back home in Australia.”
